The mission of Tangirnaq Native Village, aka Woody Island Tribal Council, is to enhance the lives of our Tribal members by providing programs and services while preserving and promoting our culture and traditions. The Tribal Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Tangirnaq Native Village in developing and coordinating grant funded programs for agencies, institutions, local government, or units of local government.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Prepare and present reports to the Tangirnaq Native Village Tribal Council on operations, activities, and grant proposals.

Maintain regular contact with Councilmembers and Tribal President. Coordinate meetings between the Council, President, and others as requested.

Oversee and maintain original documents of tribal governance to include the Tribal Constitution, Ordinances, Resolutions, Membership files, Property records, Contracts, and Funding awards.

Discuss with the Tribal Council program requirements and sources of funds available. Assist Tribal Council in researching, preparing and applying for grants and programs beneficial to the Tribe.

Administer and oversee all aspects of grants and programs as awarded to the Tribe to include: Defining scope of work, detailing goals and objectives, and monitoring activity and program progress; reporting per grant/program requirements; maintaining contact with funding and oversight agencies; communication to grant/program recipients. Maintain program master files on grants and grant reports and monitor paperwork connected with grant funded programs.

Prepare narrative justification for purchase of new equipment and other budgetary expenditures.

Provide Tribal government services to Tribal members and forward requests to Council as necessary. Assist Tribal members in pursuing and receiving services provided on behalf of the Tribe by other agencies such as KANA and Koniag.

Organize, oversee, and assist with events and activities requested by the Council for Tribal members and the community.

Plan, prepare, and oversee travel for Tribal Council. Develop cost estimates, determine traveler needs, make travel arrangements, and process all applicable paperwork per the defined travel procedures.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; one to two years related experience and/or training in identifying and developing grant proposals, compliance with Federal, State, and funding source regulatory requirements, and financial management of grants; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
