POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to the Inpatient Manager. Performs professional nursing duties in the care of women and newborn patients in the obstetric, women’s health department and emergency room settings in the hospital, based on validated competencies achieve while working in a low risk OB setting. Will work in Inpatient and ER as needed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate Degree in Nursing from an Accredited College. Must have RN license in good standing and be eligible to apply for an Alaska licensure as a Registered Nurse. Postpartum and Newborn Nursery experience preferred, with willingness to train in Med Surg or ED. AHA BLS required. NRP, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS preferred within 6 months of hire. ALSO and STABLE preferred within 6 months. Electronic Fetal Monitoring class within 1 year of hire. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend long periods of time standing or walking. May be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Must be able to pass the annual core competencies assigned to the unit.
