General Functions:

The Curriculum Training Manager is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating a culturally responsive Tribal Case Management training curriculum that supports organizational goals and employee development. This role ensures all learning materials are rooted in Alaska Native culture, instructionally sound, aligned with evidence-based standards, and engaging for diverse learners. Working in partnership with our people, the Curriculum Training Manager develops opportunities that fulfill our endless potential by collaborating with Alaska Native elders, subject matter experts, trainers, and leadership to deliver scalable, high-quality training solutions. The position contributes to CITC's mission by building organizational capacity through effective, culturally grounded learning experiences.

  • Design and develop instructional materials including lesson plans, training guides, e-learning modules, presentations, assessments, and job aids.
  • Create culturally responsive curriculum by incorporating tribal knowledge, traditions, and community perspectives to support culturally grounded and effective services.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and recommend evidence-based training solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate and deliver training courses in both virtual and in-person formats to support employee development and skill acquisition.
  • Assess and monitor training effectiveness through evaluations, observations, and performance metrics to verify employees are applying newly taught skills on the job.
  • Perform ongoing evaluations of program content to ensure timely updates and continuous improvement, maintaining relevance and effectiveness of all training materials.
  • Partner with subject matter experts, managers, and cross-functional teams to gather content, validate accuracy, and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
  • Manage project timelines, priorities, and documentation for training initiatives to ensure on-time delivery of learning solutions.
  • Support trainers and facilitators by providing coaching, resources, and best practices to enhance training delivery quality.
  • Assist in the procurement of training materials, supplies, and resources to support effective program delivery.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to all state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform all related duties as needed and assigned.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with ability to engage learners in various formats.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and practices including multiple learning modalities, interactive training design, e-learning principles, distance learning, instructor-led training, self-paced instruction, and evaluation methods.
  • Strong knowledge of learning management systems and training technology platforms, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and other web-based applications for creating training materials.
  • Strong time management skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects efficiently while remaining flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills to design effective learning solutions.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques to address diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social, health, educational, training, and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon completion of satisfactory state and federal fingerprint criminal background check.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three (3) years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or training delivery.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field.
  • Familiarity with data analytics for measuring training effectiveness and return on investment.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and consistently working on a computer with repetitive motion.
  • The need to occasionally move around the office to access filing cabinets, storage cabinets, and office equipment may be necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner.
