Purpose of Position: Manages, supervises, and assists in planning and executing Marketing campaigns in order to meet customer needs and maximize growth. This job role specializes in planning, managing, and executing projects related to go-to-market marketing efforts to drive results. This position owns the process and strategy behind the deployment of marketing campaigns and customer communications. This position reviews marketing efforts on a regular basis to make suggestions on improvement and effectiveness.
Position’s Customer(s): All company internal and external customers and senior department management.
Essential Duties of Position: This position requires Manager to:
· Fully own the mission, goals, operations, and results of the department. This responsibility is non-delegable.
· Provide strong leadership to senior management team/s and direct reports. This includes generating enthusiasm and shared commitment; identifying and setting new directions; teaching, growing, and empowering; owning outcomes; and leading by example. This responsibility is non-delegable. Specific leadership duties include:
§ Promoting the vision and tone for the department, consistent with company culture and mission. § Providing clear goals and performance expectations. § Hiring individuals who can accomplish those goals and meet those expectations, and providing them the open communications, training, tools, and mentoring they need to be successful and develop professionally, and a development path commensurate with capabilities and potential. § Providing clear and accurate feedback to individuals and teams on a timely and consistent basis. Identifying and addressing performance problems early and effectively before they damage GCI’s interests and demoralize other employees. These processes include annual performance reviews, compensation adjustments, promotions, demotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
20% Campaign Process: Manages the deployment, procedures, documentation, and task delegation of marketing campaigns. Employs strategic project management techniques for maximum campaign effectiveness.
20% Creative Review: Owns the creative approval process and timeline. Provides guidance to others on promotional messaging, ensures the appropriate parties have reviewed, and uses creative thinking to apply multiple sources of stakeholder feedback.
20% Employee Support: Provide coaching, leadership, and overall staff support to members of the Marketing Team. Responsible for hiring, leading, developing and managing the performance by those reporting to this position; establishes and communicates clear performance expectations; and makes recommendations for salary increases. Provides timely, accurate and thorough Performance Reviews for supervised employees and recommends promotions, demotions, transfers or disciplinary actions up to and including termination. Responsible for team results.
15% Campaign Brief Review and Refinement: Serves as first point of contact for reviewing marketing briefs and manages the briefing process. Works closely with Product Marketing team and Campaign team leaders to suggest edits, request additional detail, and fully refine briefs prior to campaign kickoff and execution.
15% Marketing Operations: Supports Campaign team leaders in strategic marketing operational efforts. Items of ownership include department organization efforts, process development and adherence, strategic resource management, campaign calendar development, and customer communication process.
10% Campaign Measurement: Works closely with Product Marketing team and Campaign team leaders to effectively measure, adjust, and report findings from campaign results. Prepares strategic recommendations, where appropriate.

· Experience in developing effective teams and fostering collaboration across organizational boundaries. Demonstrated skills in developing, implementing and evaluating marketing/sales strategies and programs.
· Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities rapidly and quickly reorient or adjust staff priorities appropriately
· Strong background in telecommunications product line highly desired.
· Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
· Must be able to articulate design and information in presentation format in front of internal and external customers.
· Highly motivated and well organized with the ability to focus on meeting employee and customer needs.
· Proven ability to manage product and service portfolio, as well as marketing group resulting in consistent departmental goal achievement.
· Proficient PC skills and Microsoft applications.
Years of Experience required to meet minimum qualifications: Minimum seven years of sales and or marketing experience with a record of meeting or exceeding plan goals. To include:
· Experience in telecommunications or customer service-related fields in wireless, internet and/or cable TV preferred.
· Minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory/management experience required.
Level of Education required to meet minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or similar discipline required. In addition to minimum experience required, degree may be substituted with relevant exempt experience on a year for year basis.
Certifications Required: Industry specific certifications are highly valued and contribute toward education.
Reporting Relationships:
Position reports to: Assigned Senior Manager/ Director of department
Number of Direct Reports: two or more
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform sedentary work. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, keyboarding, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Hearing is sufficient to perform job duties.
Working Conditions: Must be able to travel and meet with Regional Managers, vendors, employees, and customers within Alaska and out of state. Must be able to remain productive with interruptions, distractions, and noise. This position may require extended hours and/or weekend schedules. The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be required to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.
Background /Security Conditions: The selected individual will be required to pass a criminal history background check and verification of required license, certification, or degree. Information obtained during the background check will be used to determine an individual’s suitability for employment. GCI will ensure that background checks are conducted in compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADAAA).
Driving Requirements: Position requires occasional travel to other Company locations. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record, and proof of insurance.
