POSITION SUMMARY:

The Case Support Specialist will work with victims to provide referral services, outreach, and advocacy. Additionally, the Case Support Specialist will facilitate life skills workshops, and other workshops that work towards the health and benefit of victims.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage an active participant caseload.
• Develop a victim support group.
• Host various workshops.
• Support clients by finding healthy activities within and outside of KT.
• Provide information on services available in the community.
• Identify participant barriers and assist them in finding solutions to barrier removal.
• Promote self-sufficiency by providing educational training centered around traditional values.
• Recognize participants’ strengths and skills. Apply those attributes to appropriate activities.
• Educate the community of dating violence.
• Develop relationships with community partners outside KT, with the goal of sharing resources and events.
• Provide health and wellness education.
• Participate in internal and external outreach opportunities.
• Work one on one with staff on referrals and outreach for Social Services programs.
• Submit reporting documents to the Manager.
• Obtain, track and document all pertinent information in each case file and/or electronically.
• Participate in scheduled community meetings as requested.
• Assist in the facilitation of group activities or workshops.
• Work as part of a team: the team includes co-workers, partner agencies and participants. 
• Attend and actively participate in department meetings and trainings.
• Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in working with clients in crisis case management experience.
• Experience navigating community resources preferred, with preference given to those with knowledge of mental health and social work.
• Knowledge of Alaska Native and American Indian culture and/or community resources.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license and be insurable under KT’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver’s license for the past 5 years.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Clean state and federal background check.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Knowledge and experience of Knik Tribe’s Service Area and Knik Tribe’s Programs.
• Adequate understanding of all Microsoft Office Applications.
• Capable of basic maintenance for general office equipment and multi-line phone systems.
• Must pass a criminal background check and be free of barrier crimes.
• Knowledge and application of professional and ethical conduct as guided by the Knik Tribe Personnel Manual Section 8.1.

• Supervisor: OVC Manager
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Salary: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour DOE/E. Plus full benefits: Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.
